Description
For nearly 46 years, apart from a few gaps in the early stages, the Mexborough and Swinton trolleybuses served the South Yorkshire industrial towns of Rawmarsh, Swinton, Mexborough and Conisbrough plus access into Rotherham. This publication provides a photographic record of these silent fume free vehicles and the routes they served, some of which were operated jointly with Rotherham Corporation. It also provides street scenes of the towns taken in the early to mid twentieth century, which should interest those who study the social history of the area.
