Description
Once the end of the LSWR main line, the route from Barnstaple Junction to Torrington ran through the beautiful landscapes around the Rivers Taw and Torridge. Surviving for many years as a mineral line, it now has a surprising number of preserved relics. The route from Torrington to Halwill was built as a light railway by Colonel Stephens and therefore had its own quaint charm, well recorded.
