Description
The Abbotsbury branch served a population of under 1000 and was typical of the once numerous quiet rural backwaters of the GWR. The Easton line was unique with its joint ownership, steep gradients and sidings to a multitude of stone quarries. The Quay Tramway has been an unusual feature of the streets of Weymouth for over a century and is included in this album’s detailed photographic coverage of the fascinating railways of the area.
