The allure of Western Region hydraulics whether it be Westerns, Warships, Hymeks or Class 22s together with the magnificent Devon and Cornwall mainlines drew many fine cameramen to record the scenes throughout the 1970s.
Even when the hydraulics had passed, we still had Peaks, 50s and 47s to enjoy with a supporting cast of Class 25s, 31s and 33s.
We make no apology for the high picture count of hydraulics in this album as we feast on how things were in the early 1970s.
