In this book, author Tom Heavyside presents a series of around 50 black & white images of Western Region Hydraulic locomotives in action on the main line.
Photographs cover each type of diesel-hydraulic locomotive built for the former Western Region during the late 1950s and 1960s. As well as the famous “Western”, “Warship” and “Hymek” locomotives, other less successful types are included.
Photographs are presented in one-per-page format with an informative caption accompanying each image. An introduction and brief history of Western Region Hydraulic locomotives is also included.
